The ZX wire rope hoist from Street Crane is just one of the leading crane hoists we supply, and it has evolved considerably over the last decade or so.
With this model, the gears are permanently immersed in oil for safety and reliability year after year, while the hoist brake and the hoist motor are external, making access easy when servicing is required. The sprung roller acting on the underside of the beam eliminates the need for counterweight, meaning the life of the wheel rolling surface is increased significantly, while the pre-loading on the mechanism reduces wheel slip.
The torque arm safe load cut-out device, also known as the capacity restrictor, offers a good degree of protection, ensuring the operator does not unintentionally overload the hoist and crane structure. This robust hoist also benefits from a heavy duty rope guide to prevent damage in ‘slack-rope’ conditions, while the spring loaded inner clamping band prevents rope build up from damaging the guide.
The ventilation has also been improved significantly, and the external hoist motor optimises cooling and maximises accessibility with a cylindrical rotor fan cooled design. The bottom block also features an improved design, and it includes robust cast aluminium sheave covers as well as galvanised steel rope strands for ultimate corrosion protection. The IP 55 steel electrical control cubicle is also very easy to access for servicing or maintenance tasks, and there’s the option of a mechanical over-speed switch on the second gearbox reduction. This will then de-energise the hoist if the gearbox shaft is running at more than 10% of the normal speed.
There are various ZX Hoists to choose between (in various capacities) including low headroom, monorail, double girder and single rope hoists among others, and Cranes UK are more than happy to guide you through each of the most suitable options. This new generation of hoists really does set a bench mark for lifting and material handling in the 21st century and every ZX system comes with its own optional extras, and you can speak to a member of our team about your unique requirements on 01384 441235.
